- Your Service Specialist inspects first. Nothing is treated before that.
- You get a preparation sheet, so you know what to do before your treatment.
Your bed bug treatment
Treatment has three parts: vacuuming, dusting and a chemical treatment.
- Vacuuming comes first, which is what the product label recommends before surfaces are treated.
- A dust goes into the voids and cracks where bed bugs harbor.
- The chemical treatment goes where bed bugs hide: mattress seams, folds, tufts and edges, bed frames, box springs and headboards, and around baseboards, floorboards, millwork, wall hangings and furniture.
- It's applied as a pinstream, a coarse spray or a low-pressure spray, into cracks and crevices and along carpet edges.
- Mattress and box spring surfaces are treated directly. Porous surfaces like mattresses and carpet edges are treated until they're thoroughly damp, but not wet.
- Nothing that was treated is used again until the spray has dried.
How to prepare: Infested bed linens aren't treated. Strip them, seal them tightly in a plastic bag, then launder and dry them at high temperatures before they're used again, and re-make the bed with clean linens. Your preparation sheet has the rest.
