Opossum Control
Opossums are gray-white animals with long, bare tails that den under decks, sheds and in crawlspaces. Liberty's wildlife control starts with a free wildlife inspection and is offered in Paducah, Southern Illinois and Hopkinsville.
How to identify
- Gray-white fur and a pointed white face.
- A long, hairless tail.
- About the size of a house cat, with small, dark ears.

Wildlife Control starts with a free wildlife inspection. A local Service Advisor does a thorough inspection to see how bad the problem is, where opossums are denning, like under decks, sheds and crawlspaces, and what draws them, like pet food, open trash and fallen fruit.

Opossums look for dry, sheltered, hidden spaces, like crawlspaces and the areas under decks and porches. Food nearby, like pet food, trash and fallen fruit, makes the spot even more appealing.
How do I know if an opossum is under my house?
Look for a musky smell near a crawlspace door or deck, droppings near an opening and tracks in soft dirt, and listen for shuffling sounds under the floor at night.
Do opossums really play dead?
Yes. When frightened, an opossum may fall over and lie still for a while. It's a natural defense.
