Rodent Control in Princeton, KY

Liberty Pest Control handles mice and rats in Princeton and across Caldwell County, from our Paducah office. Mice and rats are covered by every Liberty pest control plan, and all rodent problems start with a free inspection.

A gap a quarter inch wide is enough for a mouse, University of Kentucky Entomology says, and the bottom of an outside door is a common one. Its advice is to lie on the floor and look for light coming under each door, then fit a door sweep or threshold. In a Princeton home, the back door and the door from the garage are good places to start.

Huge shoutout to Liberty Pest Control for their outstanding service! Today Trei Bisher stopped by for our service, and the experience was top-notch from start to finish. First off, the truck pulled into the driveway and I have to say… WOW. The design looks fantastic. It’s clean, professional, and really shows that Liberty Pest Control takes pride in their presentation. But the service itself is what really stood out. Trei didn’t just show up and rush through the job. He took the time to touch base with me first to make sure he had all the correct information about what I needed. He clearly explained what he was going to be doing and even mentioned another service option they offer.. but in a helpful way, not pushy at all. Another thing I really appreciated was how respectful he was of my workspace. Since I work remotely, it was important that my day wasn’t interrupted. Trei moved efficiently from area to area, getting everything done without interfering with my work at all. Professional, respectful, and thorough service like this is exactly why companies like Liberty Pest Control stand out. If you’re looking for reliable pest control with great people behind the work, they’re definitely worth calling.

DIY prevention tips

  • Seal holes and gaps a quarter inch or wider, including under doors and around pipes, using sturdy materials like hardware cloth or steel wool with caulk.
  • Store food, pet food and birdseed in sealed containers, and clean up crumbs and spills promptly.
  • Use trash cans with tight lids, and don't leave pet food or open water out overnight.
  • Trim plants back from the house, and move wood, brick and junk piles away from outside walls.
  • Cut down clutter in garages, basements and attics that could serve as nesting spots.

Common questions

Are mice and rats covered by my plan?

Yes. Mice and rats are covered by every plan. All rodent problems start with a free inspection.

Can mice get in under the doors of my Princeton home?

Yes. A quarter-inch gap under an outside door is enough. If you can see light under the door, a door sweep or threshold closes it, and all rodent problems start with a free inspection.

How do mice get into a house?

Mice squeeze through very small gaps, like openings around pipes, vents, doors and the foundation. Rats need a slightly bigger opening but get in the same ways.

How can I keep mice out of my house?

Store food and pet food in sealed containers and keep counters clean. Seal gaps around pipes and doors, and keep firewood and clutter away from the house.
